In November of 1995 the Dayton Accords-peace treaty between Serbia, Croatia, and Bosnia ended the Bosnian War and set up peace arrangements for Bosnia and Herzegovina (Clinton, 2013). While peace was made President Slobodan Milosevic was arrested in April of 2001 and brought to trial for involvement in the genocide in Bosnia and committing war crimes. The trial began in February of 2002 but Milosevic died from bad health before the end of the trial on March 11, 2006. Radovan Karadzic and Ratko Mladic were also brought to trial for committing genocide and other war crimes. A number of Serbian government officials have been accused of war crimes and genocide to go along with Milosevic, Karadzic, and Ratko. Then in 2007 the ICC officially declared the war in Serbia an act of genocide. Kosovo declared its independence from Serbia on February 17, 2008, but is. (Staff C, 2010).
